Welcoming, clean, safe and secure and beautiful

Pros: The hosts greeted us ( although didn’t know how to get in initially), were so welcoming and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble and they were on hand at any time night or day. The bed was very comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean . Although I didn’t have time to use all the facilities , the garden, tv, kitchen, it was all there to enjoy had I been staying for a holiday . Hosts had made a huge effort to provide gluten, dairy, sugar free breakfast and there was a real variety including fresh fruit. The location was beautiful and looked over land of the estate where I had lived when I was born. The hosts hapilychatted to us about people we knew in the area and gave us directions to places we wanted to revisit I can highly recommend this accommodation and the lovely hosts and would happily go again. Cons: Just getting used to the gate but once explained, it was easy . As I didn’t have my car , hadto rely on family to pick me up and therefore needed a warning of their arrival in order to open the gate for them . However, if not in that situation, it wouldn’t be an issue at all and the hosts were ready to come and assist immediately.

Great retreat!

Pros: Very lovely property and it was very clean and beautifully decorated. Private garden and beautiful scenery. Host was so loving and welcomed us in person and left us a beautiful breakfast basket we enjoyed!

Simply amazing

Pros: Me and a friend of mine found this place by chance to visit a friend that lives nearby. We could not be happier that we found it! The breakfast was a very pleasant surprise too! The photos are the exact same as the place is in real life! Lastly, Jean and Rod are very kind and helpful and they should be proud of the place! We cannot thank them enough. We will definitely come back!

Delightful five star accommodation!

Pros: Jean and Rod have carved out a wonderful, peaceful place to stay, surrounded by the farms of Great Maplestead, near Halstead, Essex. It's super quiet, secure, spotless and luxuriously equipped throughout with modern fittings and appliances in living, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. You'll love the king-size bed with its crisp Egyptian cotton sheets and duvet while the hamper, chock full with a selection of cereals, biscuits, bread, crumpets, croissants, milk, yoghurt, butter, spreads and fresh fruit will kick start every day. Your hosts are great communicators making sure you are comfortable and always ready with helpful tips on local restaurants, shopping and attractions.

Cons: Our stay was too short! It's so delightful here with so many great places to visit that we will have to return and finish our exploration of this area.
