The Mayfair

Pros: Big, bright, clean perfect location for our event.

Cons: I wouldn’t have liked to share with other people that I don’t know, there are numerous rooms to book, luckily it was only us booked in on our night so we had the whole house to ourselves.

Pros: It was spotlessly clean, lots of space and very comfortable. The owner and staff were very helpful,

Cons: Nothing that we didnt like.

Pros: We booked to stay at The Mayfair as we were attending a wedding at Swynford Manor. The building is beautiful and all done to a high standard. It's still being developed but the rooms are perfect, all ensuite. The downstairs is a great place to hang out with beautiful views of the countryside. We spoke with the owner - Fred before leaving and he has all of the issues raised here in hand. He is an amazing host and we will definitely be booking to stay again.

Cons: The location of Google maps makes it seem within walking distance of Swynford Manor, but it isn't. Also, there is no signage to show the location as it's behind a row of new houses. Some roadside signage would make finding it a lot easier. If you're staying here don't head to The Paddocks. If you're coming from Swynford Manor, go over the train tracks and you will see 3 brand new houses, there is a gravel track that runs behind them, head down there and you will find The Mayfair.

Fred was great and the stay was lovely.

Pros: Lovely property and perfect for attending a wedding at Swynsford Manor. Room was perfect and clean.

Cons: When we got back the temperature in the room was 26 degrees without the radiators on in the room. I think it was the underfloor heating downstairs. The fan made no difference or having the window open so quite a hot night. It was about 12 degrees outside!

Pros: It was very difficult to find, initially.. The directions on the website take you somewhere else completely. There is no signage, and locals have never heard of it. The house is beautiful, my room was clean. It was strange not having a representative on site, but he did communicate well by phone.

Spacious, comfortable … but teething problems that need to be addressed.

Pros: Very modern, comfy beds, clean, lots of space and brand new kitchen equipment

Cons: Hard to find, especially in the rain and dark. No directions provided. Lots of teething problems. No information on how to use the equipment. Took us ages to work out how to unlock the hob and put the oven on a simple setting. Needs a house book with details on how to use everything, including the WiFi! Had to text the owner (very helpful and friendly) to get that information. Also provide basic things like teabags and milk, there’s nothing. Having to trudge out in the rain to buy standard stuff like that was a pain. And hairdryers please! Expensive for the area.

Stayed for 1 night, had the vast property to ourselves. The host was very friendly

Pros: Good location between Newmarket and Cambridge. Near to wedding venue we were visiting

Cons: Slight road noise if windows open

Pros: Fred went over and beyond all our expectations. A big thank you for all your help and kindness

Was staying for work and ended up feeling like a holiday

Pros: It wasn’t just the room and location even thought they were fantastic, Fred the owner contacted me after I booked and nothing was to much trouble, a real home from home.👏👏

Cons: For me there was nothing that would have made a difference for my stay, had booked for one night but after arriving and seeing the standard booked another on.
