Lily Pad

A very relaxing and comfortable stay in a lovely property.

Pros: Location was very private and outside seating was great, especially the summerhouse overlooking the pond.

Cons: A sieve would be handy - rice went through the holes in the colander!

Perfect place to stay to unwind - Heaven

Pros: No breakfast it was a self catering - perfect. Peaceful and not disturbed by anything or anyone. Just heaven. Hosts were very attentive as my partner had an injury (not related to the property) we very helpful.

Cons: Nothing - sorry - cannot give a bad comment as there weren't any

A hidden gem

Pros: We spent a fantasic weekend at the Lily Pad, just far enough from the buzz of nearby towns, enjoying meals in the garden and birdwatching. Aldenburgh is only 5 min drive away so it was easy to get to all of the local landmarks in the afternoon. Inside the cabin everything is thought through, tidy, and create with a lot of thought and care. We appreciated little touches like the area walking maps drawn by local artists and the little booklet documenting the construction of the hut and the local wildlife caught by cameras at night. We felt welcome, comfortable, and at peace. Hoping to come back for a longer stay some time!

Cons: Abolutely no complaints - everything you can possibly need or want is anticipated and provided, just read the instructions in the booklet. If you are looking for a lighter for a fire pit, it is in the lock box inside (took us a minute to find it since we forgot out own!)

Just gorgeous!

Pros: Not sure i want to tell the world about this little gem!! Beautiful setting, quiet and close to lots of gorgeous sights. Everything you could need is provided and the owners have thought of every detail to make you feel at home. Very comfortable and clean, a perfect place for a weekend away to relax and unwind. Am already planning the next stay!

Wonderful & cosy stay!

Pros: We had a fantastic stay in Jan and Pete's idyllic Shepherds Hut that they had lovingly built - thank you! They had thought of every detail to make a trip as comfortable as possible and we loved cosying up next to the woodburning stove and fire pit over a chilly New Years. The hut was even more spacious than it looked in the photos and had a very well-equipped kitchen and large shower!

The perfectly perfect (Lily) pad!

Pros: The Lily Pad has been built by owners, Peter and Jan, with an impressive attention to detail. Inside, it is perfectly proportioned for such small accommodation and extremely comfortable with tasteful decor and high quality furnishings and accessories. Outside there are several seating areas throughout the neatly landscaped garden and even a delightful summer house for those less than summery days and evenings overlooking the pond, complete, of course, with lily pads. Every single thing has been thought out and executed with such love and it was an absolute joy to stay for a long weekend...we had to tear ourselves away when it came to an end.

Cons: The noise from the road can be heard in the morning and evening...not during the night...and while it didn't bother us, it may be an issue for guests wanting to hear the sounds of the countryside and nothing else.

Wow! What a gorgeous little place!

Pros: Wow! What a gorgeous little place! Lily pad is not only in the cutest, most idyllic spot, but is an incredibly well thought out little space. And just a few moments drive into Aldeburgh! Yes Lily Pad, is compact but that is the beauty of it, and with the very clever storage solutions and ‘mod cons’ this is barely noticeable. Kitted out with great appliances, utensils and all the extras you could need, maintained to an exceptionally high standard, with vast private outdoors space, this is the perfect place to get away from it to, and chill! We will be returning!

Pros: We had a wonderful stay at Lily Pad. It was a lovely setting, really well thought out Shepard’s hit with everything you could want. It was the perfect retreat for the weekend, with Aldeburgh, Snape & Thorpeness on our doorstep. The bed was very comfortable, great bathroom and shower and our hosts made it a really enjoyable stay.
