Minsmere Cottage

Wonderful!

Pros: Lovely place, plenty of rooms and beds. Bathroom and kitchen facilities comprehensive. Very warm. Parking easy on street. We stayed near Christmas, and dining room was decorated, which was delightful!

Cons: One of the beds had slats which fell out very easily, ended up switching to a different one.

Character with some space

Pros: A very old house full of character and hidden staircases. The heating made the whole house very welcoming and we weren't short of space. The wood burner made the lounge the place to be in the late evening. All bedrooms were of very good sizes, we would have used the second bedroom if it had the double bed so as to enjoy the views from the rear.

Cons: An extra lamp at the rear of the lounge would make a big difference. Despite location, neither of us could get usable mobile coverage (EE and Vodafone). The free wi-fi is clearly located next door and offered fleeting service at best, nothing really useable.

Lovely, but mind your head!

Pros: It is a lovely period cottage, neat and clean, located in a quaint village. Rooms are big. Beds comfortable.

Cons: Beware of your heads if you are 6' or over! Husband bumped his head a few times on the low doors, stair ways. Stairs are very steep and winding, so it won't be suitable if you are a little older, unsteady, or have slight back/leg issues.. have to be much more careful than usual.

Relaxing village break

Pros: Lovely cottage full of quirky corners and cupboards. Has everything you need for a village break.

Cons: Very steep staircase to upper bedroom, ok for us but my 81 year old dad would not get up there.but a fab room if you are good on your legs.

A lovely cottage - clean and comfortable. Great location.

Pros: The cottage was large enough for our needs. The beds were super comfy and the entire place was very clean. The shower was good (and clean) and the kitchen had what we needed. There was also a dining table which was nice.

Cons: There was nothing that we didn't like at the property!

Pros: A very nice old house. We had no problem but the steepness of the stairs would be difficult/impossible for some use.

Cons: The website was unclear about parking - make it clear that this is on street. Provide instructions how to use gas cooker.

Pros: Cute cottage with everything you need for a weekend away with friends

Cons: Would be good to have a lock on the bathroom door upstairs

Lovely stay in a well presented period cottage in an excellent location

Pros: The rooms in the property were much bigger than we expected, especially the bedrooms. The lounge is very comfortable and relaxing. There's also a very large dining room. The kitchen is well stocked and has a washing machine and dishwasher. There's also a downstairs bathroom, with toilet. There's a lovely small outside terrace, but we didn't really use it as we were out during the day and it was very cool in the evening. Considering the age of the house (c 17th Century), it was extremely cosy, warm, and very well maintained. We visited in February and the overnight temperature was below freezing. It's in a wonderful location, having a good stores nearby and a simply wonderful cafe serving delicious food and drinks. Southwold and Aldeburgh are just 15-20 minutes away. The owner is very friendly, amenable, and engaging. We highly recommend staying here and will definitely be booking again.

Pros: Much bigger inside than we expected so great for family holiday. Good location for sightseeing. Very helpful hosts.
