Huge Deluxe 600 Year Old Essex Manor

Pros: Great property, excellent communication and hosting. Would recommend and stay again.

Pros: Great character property with lots of stories behind it Hot tub is a nice touch too, plenty of room in the house!

Cons: Second step of stairs are quite small and it maybe worth just noting that in the description or adding a photo

Pros: So many little corners to find, we loved it and made ourselves at home well.

Cons: If you’re a light sleeper the front rooms are on the street so a bit noisy. Mind your head on some of the doors also but this is part of the character of the house which we liked

Cons: Only downside is the lack of parking which is not a fault of the property itself just a little tricky when you have lots of bags etc.

Amazing, quirky enormous mansion!

Pros: The house was amazing! We were only here for a 1 night stay to go to a concert nearby and only wish we had longer to relax and explore! The location in the middle of Saffron Walden is fabulous and the house was pristine and very comfortable. We will be back for a longer stay!

Cons: Couldn't locate any tea towels but not an issue for a one night stay

Stunning house to bring friends together to make wonderful memories.

Pros: Just amazing, stunning place to stay. A large group of us went to the area for a concert and found this place for us all to stay. We had a wonderful time and this place is perfect for a group to get together.

Cons: Some of the rooms are interlinked and not full separated. Really not a big issue but we needed to rethink our sharing arrangements. But just a minor point that would have been good to know in advance.

Magical Christmas stay

Pros: We stayed for Christmas Eve and Christmas day as a family group of 10 and had the most wonderful stay. The rooms were large and spacious and beautifully decorated. We were very pleased with the Christmas decorations and tree. The beds and sofas were all extremely clean and comfortable. The Harry Potter themed rooms and coded rooms added to the magic of Christmas. Damian was an excellent host and couldn't have been more helpful, he genuinely cared if we were having a great stay. The cleaning team were brilliant and helped to give us an early check in. Our 3 small chihuahuas had a great stay too and the secure garden was ideal for them. The garden suite was a perfect space for my parents to have a more peaceful and relaxing stay.

An amazing house with lots of space.

Pros: A very nice house that kept surprising us. We used it for a small team meeting and it gave a nice balance of meeting, recreation and sleeping space. Close to town for going out, cheap parking only a short walk away.

Cons: On main road, a little noisy in the front bedrooms at night. I'd go back again though as this was the only detractor.

Stunning

Pros: The stunning decor, the wide range of the facilties, the design and comfort of the rooms, the proximity to the town, the beautiful setting in the shadow of the church and the kind attention of the owner. None of it could be faulted and I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

A magical, enchanting stay we thoroughly loved

Pros: I absolutely loved the whole property. The owners have really taken the time and care to decorate everything to be amazing. It is a beautiful old building with every room having its own quirk which really does make the place feel magical. I cannot praise the owners enough for making our stay special. thank you!

Cons: The only thing I would say is there are a couple of stairs (to second floor and basement) which can be a bit scary. Not recommended for those scared of heights or unsteady on their feet.
