Really enjoyed our stay at this very quirky property, a lovely village and some great walks around.

Pros: A very beautiful property, not good if you any mobility issues due to the steep stairs, loved the fireplace and real fire.

Cons: We were a bit cold the first night but didnt put the heating on properly until we found the thermostat.

Characterful cottage in a pretty village

Pros: The cottage was attractive in a lovely village. Care had been taken in the heatwave to keep the cottage as cool as possible before our arrival. The village shop has everything you need to get started. We enjoyed our time in The Bell. The food and beer were good

Cons: We hadn't appreciated how challenging the access to the bedrooms might be for people less able or with young children

A fantastic stay in a beautiful cottage in the lovely village of Castle Hedingham.

Pros: Kate was really helpful with any requests and information, a hidden gem of a garden and a beautiful place to stay as a family. We really enjoyed being able to walk into the village and make the most of the local amenities!

A really lovely ancient cottage, comfortable, and in a beautiful quiet location

Pros: If you are tall with back or mobility problems, this might not be the place for you! Being tall, it was nice to see other members of the family having to duck through places :-) More seriously, this is a truly exceptional ancient cottage, with all that entails. Amazing exposed timber beams, low ceilings in places, steep and uneven stairs in the main part of the cottage, although the kitchen and bathroom (with suitably modern facilities), are later additions, and of more normal proportions. The whole place is comfortable, and beautifully and traditionally decorated, but has all the necessary facilities, and a lovely garden as well. It doesn't have private parking, but during our stay we didn't have any problems with the on-street parking in the very quiet lane outside,
