Most enjoyable

Pros: Really handy for the habour side in central Harwich. The food is great, both dinner and breakfast. Lovely warm room and classy bathroom. Free parking at the rear.

Thank you for a short but delightful stay.

Pros: All the staff had a smile on their face and were so helpful. The place was in a great position and with a free car park. The food and accommodation were top class.

Cons: There was nothing to dislike about our stay.

Superb Hotel

Pros: Right on the Quay. Handy for amenities. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was spotless and very very comfortable. Thick blackout curtains which were warm and makes light optional. The food is exceptional. Great breakfast. They took great trouble with the order. Lots of options available. Had a group meal as part of an event, which was amazingly good. I even got a space in the car park, even though it's small. There is plenty of parking elsewhere too. The room had a fridge, so I was able to keep my own bottles cool, and tea and coffee making, iron, hairdryer. Bathroom with walk in shower and all toiletries was superb. The decor is good quality. They treated my assistance dogs with kindness and provided bowls and treats.

Cons: Can't think of anything.

Hoping to stay in The Pier again soon!

Pros: Very comfortable, lovely deco, new bathroom delicious breakfast and great location for ferries.

A stylish waterfront hotel with excellent breakfast, comfortable rooms and friendly service.

Pros: The location was perfect for visiting friends in Harwich, overlooking the harbour. The staff were really friendly and the hotel was clean and thoughtfully designed. Very comfy beds and great shower. Breakfast was excellent.

Cons: Nothing. Except breakfast on Sunday is till 10am and check out is 11am. I would have expected this to be a bit later for a Sunday. But not a problem.

Pros: The most comfortable bed I have ever had in the UK, lovely view, plus the hotel and the bar are dog friendly!

Cons: If I have to: 35 quid chare for the dog, but no dog bed/bowls - usually together with the pet charge you'd get some items to make their stay more comfortable as well

Pros: The Pier Hotel was perfect for us to celebrate our anniversary. Staff were super friendly, Drinks at the bar were great, the meal at the restaurant for dinner was amazing and breakfast (included in the price) was delicious. The room was also lovely with nice little touches like fresh milk in the fridge for tea and coffee. We really enjoyed our stay. Will be bringing our American relatives next time for the delicious local Colchester Oysters!

If your'e visiting Harwich - there is no better place to stay than The Pier Hotel!

Pros: Breakfast was very good, cooked to order and plenty to eat.

Cons: The lift was a bit odd, but it's only two storeys so we were happy to use the stairs!

Feels like the edge of the world (but convenient for the annual sausage throwing competition)

Pros: Nice room. Quirky. Comfortable. Good bathroom. Very soft bed. Interesting location. Very good restaurant with compelling views. Good common area with tea / coffee. Good breakfast.

Cons: Very hot, but easy to open the windows. Room was very compact and could have had more space if the furniture had been better placed. Common room had been booked for a private function so wasn't available. Food in restaurant was great, but if you don't like sea food or all-the-dairy, it'll be lean pickings. Private parking but we didn't know that up front so already paid for parking outside by the pier.
