Lamb Hotel by Greene King Inns

Sitting in the shadows of Ely Cathedral, Lamb Hotel dates back to the 15th century and retains its atmosphere as a thriving coaching inn. The Lamb boasts 31 comfortable en-suite rooms. Meals and drinks are served all day in the bar and restaurant. Traditional beers, wines, spirits and teas and coffees are available. The Lamb Hotel's history dates back to the time of King Richard II. Ely has old streets and medieval gateways, timbered houses and parkland stretching down to the River Great Ouse. Cambridge is nearby, and Newmarket, famous for horse racing, is 19 km away.

Can't fault this gem in beautiful Ely

Pros: From the lovely, friendly welcome to the delicious breakfast the next day, we couldn't have had a better stay. Situated in the heart of beautiful Ely, and staffed with truly lovely people, the Lamb Hotel is a gem. We also ate dinner there and the food was great. Close to lots of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops and of course the amazing Ely Catherdral. Highly recommend.

Fabulous.

Pros: Everything. Three of us stayed for one night for Ely beer festival, and the Hotel provided everything we required. Good location, a comfortable night's sleep and extremely friendly and efficient staff. I had actually made a major mistake by booking for the Saturday evening instead of the Friday I should have booked, and didn't realise the error until we checked in. On a busy weekend I fully expected we would be turned away, but the very kind and understanding lady on the hotel reception managed to sort out three individual rooms for us, which were actually upgraded from singles to doubles at no extra cost. Thanks again!
