The Royal Standard

Very enjoyable one night stay

Pros: Well situated pub. Friendly staff. Convenient car parking at back of pub

Cons: Low bed and shower not very powerful

Pros: Great little hotel, super comfy bed and an enormous bathroom

Cons: Pricey pints

Was lovely n l will book again when visiting Ely

Pros: Room was lovely decorated was nice to see couple of bottles of water. Breakfast was very tasty

Great location, friendly staff, great breakfast.

Pros: Breakfast superb. Staff outstanding. Wife wasn’t feeling well and we were told that she could stay in room for a little bit longer and they would provide breakfast after cut off time if she was feeling up to eating.

Cons: Not the hotels fault but because we arrived at 1pm on the Saturday parking was very difficult.

Perfect for a short stay in Ely.

Centrally located and ideal for a short break

Pros: Central location. Friendly staff....well appointed and warm room, which was especially nice during a cold and wet spell! We only had breakfast meals at the Royal Standard. There was a good selection on the menu and the member of the team who served us was cheerful and informative.

Cons: All very pleasant so nothing to report.

A very nice place to stay right in the centre of the city

Pros: Checkin was easy, room was pretty and comfortable and it's an ideal location. En suite was lovely and clean and everything seemed to work. Would recommend for a night like we did. The breakfast menu was very good and what I had (scrambled egg on sourdough with black pudding) very tasty. Liked the water and the coffee bags in the room.

Cons: It was a bit confusing as I thought breakfast was included but perhaps I missed something Also the window in the room is clearly single-glazed - it looks pretty historic so maybe there's some restrictions but it does mean you can hear the road quite clearly.

Pros: Lovely little pub. Beautiful little room.cosy and comfortable. Great location.

We really enjoyed the stay in Ely. The staff were absolutely amazing, from start to finish.

Pros: The breakfast was fantastic on each of the three days that we stayed there. The staff were excellent, really friendly and helpful (one in particular of which unfortunately I cannot remember her name was outstanding- The tall blonde woman who the rugby player)

Cons: The rooms (1 and 3) were a little tired and the windows were difficult to open. I think that the room needed a bit of a deep clean to be totally honest.

Wonderful pub in the heart of Ely.

Pros: We visited Ely for the Christmas Market and decided to stay. The royal Standard is right in the town with the cathedral & shops just minutes away. We arrived early and the staff said our room was ready so we could check in, the manager carried our bag to our room, which was stylish & comfortable. The staff were very friendly, and super helpful, the food selection is large and good quality. We highly recommend The Royal Standard and will return.
