The Bell Inn

Good hotel - restaurant closed again!

Pros: Second time if staying - beautiful place and lovely, clean, well-equipped rooms

Cons: For the second time in two visits the restaurant was closed. OK, these things happen, but to be told two days before arrival was very unprofessional

Pros: Did not experience breakfast, and i didn't see any sign of it, i fact apart from one staff member, i didn't see anyone about during my 3 night syay

Cons: It had been arranged for my room to be left unlocked, as my arrival time was early eveving. This was arranged via a telephone call. I was told that my key would be inside the unlocked room on the bedside table. Fortunately my son accompanied me to the Bell, as i would have been left stranded. The door was LOCKED and no sign of a y key. By chance there was member of staff about to shut up the kitchens, so after some formalities, checking my booking , i was admitted to my room. A very disappointing experience as I said, and I only saw one person one evening, also leaving the Bell, in fact i didn't see any sign of the Bell bei g.open during my stay. On the plus side the room was comfortable and clean, but far too hot, and i had difficulty opening the window to reduce the temperature. Overall disappointing with the level of service, as I have explained.

Welcoming and comfortable

Pros: Absolutely lovely room. Clean and well appointed. Great food too

Lovely stay will return, perfect location for races

Pros: Likes we could check in and take key out with us so could let our selves straight in room when arrived bk at night Delux room beautiful and cosy had a lovely sleep stunning bathroom

Cons: The bar closed early would of liked to have a couple of drinks, bar was closed 8:30pm on a sat but Newmarket is lively so we just stayed out in town.

Perfectly enjoyable. Dinner was verygood.

Pros: Location good but no breakfast available. Room very clean and functional.

An old inn full of character but with modern accomodation

Pros: Ideal location to stay for Newmarket. Food and drink were very good. Friendly staff.

Excellent clean accommodation, friendly helpful staff, would stay again.

Pros: Unfortunately there was no breakfast available but there were tea and coffee facilities in the room as well as a good size mini fridge. The staff also recommended a cafe nearby that was excellent. The evening bar meal was nice and bar staff were pleasant. Rooms were cleaned daily and staff were really nice. Would definitely stay again.

Cons: We were aware there was no air con in the room and were happy to find a fan provided as the rooms in July were really hot. Overall this was not a problem.

Pros: The apartment we stayed in was lovely and great location for what needed

Cons: Breakfast was not included when I am sure I had read some where that it was. This however would effect me recommending this accommodation and I would book to stay again
