Great place to recover (after the Chelmsford half marathon)

Pros: Lovely peaceful setting - we stayed in ‘Hawthorn’ which was very stylish. The on site bistro was closed but reception suggested an excellent pub nearby

Excellent for a romantic getaway!!

Pros: Pretty much everything was perfect, the room was modern but rustic, the cleanliness was 100% too (if they can sort out the wet weather that would be a bonus :) ). Excellent for a romantic evening. Highly recommend it!! Area / setting looks nice (shame about the weather, so couldn't explore more).

Cons: Only thing that could maybe be improved is that its an old barn / stable conversion and the front door shut wasn't sound tight, was kept awake a bit by people going into adjacent rooms a couple of times. But this should not put anyone off.

A lovely stay ! this is my third time at staying at the channels

Pros: Everything! From the moment I arrived there the staff was so welcoming and the receptionist even managed to change my room! So I could have a bath and a shower as I had my little girl with me .

Cons: I had not complaints about the hotel at all! The only thing that I had a problem with was on one of my nights when staying at the channels. A couple next door to me had a verbal domestic in their room !! Till 3am . And I did report this the next day to the reception.!

Great place to stay, to visit our daughter

Pros: Room very good, warm and comfortable when we arrived. Facilities excellent, great shower and bed. Fridge and teas and coffee, biscuits etc.

Cons: The only small negative was that the room heating went gradually down during the night and there wasn’t any apparent way to turn the radiators up, coupled with a cold tiled floor it felt slightly chilly later that night and in the morning!

Pros: A pleasant place to stay. Lovely ambience and friendly staff.

Cons: Building works to get to the hotel. Punctured my tyre, not the hotels fault though.

Pros: The room was beautiful, the bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was tasty

Cons: Could have done with some slippers. The room could have been warmer. The breakfast staff were not the friendliest.

Overall excellent and would happily go back.

Pros: Our room was very clean and laid out really well with a very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and good storage space. Very quiet location and very good breakfast.

Cons: The cafe where breakfast is served is quite small and was fully booked on the Sunday morning so had to go back 15 minutes later which was an inconvenience.
