Grand hotel

Our 7 night stay at Wivenhoe House from Australia.

Pros: The location was perfect with easy access to all areas. The hotel building was a good example of lovely past architecture. Rooms were large, comfortable and warm. The free standing bath was lovely.

Cons: Staying for 7 nights we would have appreciated a more relaxed dining experience saving the main restaurant for some dinners.

Luxury hotel for budget price

Pros: Great staff, super friendly and accommodating, room was superb, absolutely huge and had a deep bathtub which was a welcome bonus

Cons: Chromecast to tv didn’t work, pillows were a bit flat

Great rooms & peaceful location!

Pros: I had this gigantic luxury room which was fabulous and very relaxing. I had to come back to the hotel for two extra nights because of another accommodation falling through and this time got one of their rooms in the modern part of the hotel with a balcony and a lovely park view. I came with my dog and was made very welcome! Location is great too in the middle of a park on Essex university grounds, very peaceful!

Cons: Nothing...the staff at the reception and restaurant were all very nice!

Absolute luxury.

Pros: This hotel really did blow us away, not just because of how luxury and beautiful it is but also because of how amazing every single member of staff that we encountered were, even just passing a staff member in the corridor you would receive a lovely smile and a hello. The restaurant was equally wonderful, again from the service to the food, everything was a 10. Our room was beautiful, the best we have ever stayed in, and the huge bathtub was just a bonus for an evening of relaxation. Everything was immaculate. It was nice to find out about the school while we were there too, that seemed to make it even more special knowing that a lot of the staff are students there, we wholeheartedly believe they are all amazing. We cannot wait to come and stay again.

Absolutely amazing

Pros: Absolutely amazing ! The staff were wonderful! I actually forgot I was in the UK- I’m not used to such warm hospitality. I’ll definitely be back over and over again. A truly truly lovely place with beautiful grounds and great food .
