St Nicholas Hotel Colchester

Pros: Great location good value for money well appointed room.

Cons: Bed and bit firm for our taste.

Good central location

Pros: Central location, convenient to walk everywhere we wanted to get to.

Cons: Inability to control temperature in the room. It was very warm, we slept with the window open and a fan blowing ( in February!!!) Noise outside (made worse because we had to have the window open)

Clean, tidy, neat and inexpensive.

Pros: I loved the location right in city centre. I had no idea it’d be so self serve but that suited me fine.

Cons: There was a little food on the wall but that’s all

Pros: We booked an overnight stay. The room was comfortable.

Cons: Temperature of the room, int was too hot. The temperature rose through the night.

A wonderful hotel in every single respect - I was really sad to leave!

Pros: Everything was excellent - spotlessly clean, plenty of space in my room, , a desk for work and a lovely large balcony with a view. The room was quiet and the shower was perfect. Location could not have been better. All staff without exception were highly professional and welcoming. I really enjoyed the breakfast - very tasty indeed ! I visit many hotels across the country but breakfast here is my favourite.

Pros: Room itself lovely. Location of hotel in town very good. Book in staffvery pleasant and helpful

Cons: Position of room within hotel. Was very noisy from street noise. Shower head was dirty and hook in shower room broken

Handy place in a good location

Pros: Location is fantastic, rooms are clean and heating and air conditioning are superb. The shower is fantastic, warm and clean

Pros: The hotel itself is brilliant, comfy beds, clean, easy to access, room was spacious and bathroom didnt feel crammed.

Cons: Unfortunately it's right in the town, and being a Friday night outside was very loud so not a good night sleep

Very nice

Pros: The room was very clean and warm and a good size too, A nice view of Colchester castle. Good thick curtains and double glazing.works well. Ni touch to drop keys in box which saves going back to the main hotel

Cons: Bathroom fan not working, even after trying the switch outside bathroom. Tv not working even with a change of handset.

Enjoyed our stay and will return

Pros: Well maintained, nice and modern and fantastic location.

Cons: Beds are a little uncomfortable- can feel the springs.
