The Ship

Pros: Great location, staff are excellent, you know what you’re getting. I have stayed here previously, was happy to stay this time too and I would stay hare again.

Pros: Great location for me and I've stayed here before and will be staying again soon. 4 minutes walk to the train station, perfect!

Cons: The beer wasn't free lol. All great!

Needed a bed for the night whilst visiting family so did not need food.

Pros: Location and friendly staff despite being a busy pub in holiday season. Upgrade to room 10, rooms 9&10 are ensuite and recently refurbished.

Cons: Steps up to rooms and the noise for a short period at closing time from the street.

Pros: The bed was lovely and comfortable, the room was a good size and the ensuite was a good enough size and the shower had good water pressure.

The room was very comfortable. No noise from the pub below which surprised me. Very comfy bed so ideal for my needs

Pros: The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable.

Cons: No fault of the hotel itself but, as is expected with somewhere so close to a bus station, things got noisy outside from around 5 in the morning.

Very good value

Pros: Very good value for money, the king suite is large and comfortable with a new en-suite. I stay here regularly for work.

Cons: Not that this can be changed but the parking can be a pain. You can’t book for the full night if you get there before a certain time, it only allows you to book to 5am so you have to remember to book more time. However I’ve forgotten twice and not had a ticket…yet

Pros: Nearly everything, live within walking distance and would stay again.

Cons: Room access required lots of stairs, no issue with that but one door had a wc sign and a fire exit sign, it was the way out but hesitant to use door initially.

Beautiful room but parking an issue

Pros: The room (room 8) was in the new extension. Lovely decor and all new furniture. Comfy bed and chair. Tea/coffee and coffee machine. Spacious shower. Lovely soap liquid. Quality towels. Huge TV with access to Netflix. Plenty of hangers in wardrobe. Own external access to rooms.

Cons: Noise of the traffic in the morning but there isn't much that can be done about this. The hotel is in the centre of a busy city. No full length mirror. Car park is a nightmare as only goes up to 5am with no return for 1 hour. Better to use park and ride. Get off at the rail station and then walk 5 mins to the Ship. Then get park and ride back in the morning. £3.50 each way.

Pros: The Ship staff were very kind and helpful. The room was pristine and cozy. The bedding was comfy. The area was a ten minute walk to the centre.
