Well located with character

Pros: This property has a lot of character, very different from a bland Premier Inn type accommodation. It is well located in the heart of the town, five minutes walk from Hertford East station - coffee shop and newsagents across the road in the morning. My second floor room was well equipped and quiet with a comfortable bed. I was warned to “mind your head” on the stairs - warning notices as well would be useful.

Cons: The cut-off time of 20.30 for checking in worried me in advance - what if my train was delayed? In fact I’m sure the helpful bar attendant who showed me up would not have minded, but I could not know that. Actually the pub stays open till 10 pm, or 1 am Friday and Saturday.

If you’re staying in Hertford this is a good value for money establishment

Pros: Clean, comfortable and lovely size room with tea, coffee and biscuits.

Cons: Not the fault of b&b but very noisy in street, although ear plugs were provided.

Cons: This time the taps in the sink didn’t work, and would have been lovey to provide a plug for the bathtub.

Great comfy stay, welcoming staff.

Pros: Good location and lovely room, great bed and good shower. Welcoming and friendly staff. Also loved the decor and appreciated the treats with the tea and coffee tray!

Cons: Was a bit noisy at night but you'd expect that in a central location and it did say this on the listing, plus ear plugs provided! Great touch.
