The Oakland Hotel

The Oakland Hotel is a family-run budget hotel situated in the Centre of the riverside town of South Woodham Ferrers, 15 miles from Southend-on-Sea. Close to the River Crouch, all rooms have private bathrooms. Rooms feature a TV, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers and have free WiFi access. Oakland Bar is open daily and also shows live sporting events. On Friday Saturday nights the bar has live music until midnight. Quieter rooms can be provided on request but are subject to availability. Being a town centre hotel, we only have a few parking spaces at the rear of the hotel. However, there is a large carpark opposite the hotel in front of South Woodham police station. The hotel is 15 minutes from South Woodham Ferrers Rail Station, while South Woodham Swimming Pool and the Club Woodham Fitness are only a minutes' walk away. The hotel is within easy reach of A127, A12 and M25. The Hotel has easy access to the Olympic Stadium, with trains from South Woodham Ferrers to Stratford taking 45 minutes.

Fab staff excellent breakfast I would highly recommend this hotel

Pros: We arrived at the hotel and we was greeted by the lovely staff. We went straight to our room which was lovely and clean. When we woke up in the morning we had a lovely hot fresh breakfast also with cereals juices tea and coffee.

Cons: There wasn’t anything that I could complain about everything was to my standard clean tidy and friendly. I’m very good value for money.

Very surprised, would definitely stay again, great value for money

Pros: Very clean Breakfast was lovely, not cheap ingredients either. Staff were friendly

Cons: The room was quite warm even after turning the radiator off. I should have asked reception for a fan which I’m sure they would have had so my fault

Pros: Great stay. Well equipped room. Good wifi. Breakfast was from 7 which was good. Good breakfast. Lovely staff

Cons: Thin walls so could hear the blokes arguing next door for ages but you get thin walls in lots of places

Pros: The staff. Had a tricky situation with a young lad that wanted to start trouble. Was delt with by the staff. Apologised to us for the trouble. They had a live band which was excellent. Called the frog on the moon.
